Act Fourteen: Going green on St. Patty’s Day

In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, I decided to do a “green” act of kindness.  My friend Sue suggested cleaning up a local park in honor of my Mom.  Sue keeps plastic bags in her van so that her and her two boys can pick up trash when they go on walks or to the park  So, the kiddos and I grabbed a few plastic bags and walked to our neighborhood park for a cleanup.

Li Na did double duty as trash collector and film crew.  She brought her pink V-tech camera and filmed the cleanup while giving us directions like “hold up your trash Tai,” or “look at the camera Mom!”  Tai asked if he could keep most of the trash he found including an old lego, a plastic tennis ball container, and a nip bottle.  He got pretty close to tasting some old Mountain Dew too!  All in all, it was a successful cleanup.  Thanks for the idea Sue!
